Retail in Virtual Space

My Role at StoreLab is as an Industrial Designer in a multi-faceted role, completing projects involving research development, asset & environment creation, 3D modelling, VFX/Video creation.

As a team member at StoreLab, I’ve both assisted on & run projects for many suppliers & retailers, both on a local level, as well as with large multinational corporations (whom for their confidentiality will not be named on this page).

Client & project management are imperative here, with tight deadlines, multiple projects happening at once, and shifting client expectations. Working here has polished my abilities in these respects dramatically. Furthermore, working with, supporting and delegating work to other parts of the team are critical - utilising the skills and experience of everyone on board is how incredibly true-to-life projects get across the line.

Research in Virtual Space

StoreLab creates virtual spaces in which research can be conducted within a proximity to reality rivalled only by the physical world. Working as a part of StoreLab, I’ve helped develop and run research projects, as well as build the environments in which they are conducted.

Videos & Visualisations for Retail

Retail suppliers research hard and compete heavily for their product input onto retailer shelves. StoreLab is there to facilitate this process, providing visualisations of store environments, as well as 1:1 planograms of shelves stocked with 3D products, detailed down to the fine print. This is in conjunction with working as a partner in meetings & coordination with retailers to achieve the outcomes they’re looking for.

With StoreLab I’ve made thousands of 3D products, and as many environments & projects to fit them in. Working with retailers & their suppliers has provided me an insight into the inner workings of the processes, supply chains & relationships retail brands function within.
